Today we’re ticking something off our business bucket list – we’ve won our very first award!
It was a lovely surprise to find we had been nominated for the SME News Midlands Enterprise Awards, and we were equally thrilled to hear that we had won the award for Best SME Employment Law Firm 2021.
We take huge pride in what we do, and it’s great to be recognised for it. But how much do you know about us and what we do?
The Neate & Pugh story
Having worked together before in a large international law firm, Emma and I (Ann-Marie) already knew that we made a great team, and so setting up our own law firm together seemed like the most natural next step.
By combining our expertise (and personalities), we knew we could provide a service that not only covered the full spectrum of employment law, but also delivered it in a more friendly and straightforward way. The rest as they say, is history!
Employment Law plus HR consultancy
As we started out on our business journey together it became clear there was a lot of crossover between employment law and HR, and that many of our clients needed help in both areas. As a result, we decided to add specialist HR consultancy support to our practice and our clients are really seeing the added value and benefits of that.
Our small team of expert employment lawyers and HR Specialists work together to offer support to both businesses and individuals.
What makes us different?
We like to think of ourselves as small and mighty! Our team all have years of commercial experience behind them and collectively we can offer an unrivalled level of expertise when it comes to employment law and HR consultancy.
We work hard to simplify the often-complex field of law, cutting out the jargon and giving advice that is straightforward and easy to understand.
We don’t have a magic wand to wave over your problems, but what we can promise is that we will listen, ask the right questions, and give pragmatic advice that’s tailored to your exact situation.

We work with businesses across the private, public and third sector, everything from small start-ups right through to SME’s and larger corporate companies. Regardless of the size and scale of a business we can offer the same flexible support, either on a project basis, or a more complete employment solution where there is little or no internal HR in place.

We know it can be challenging to fully understand your workplace rights which is why we try to make our service to individuals as simple and stress free as possible. Our aim is to help you fully understand your situation and to guide you towards the most appropriate solution.
